SPDG Directors' Webinar

Tips and Guidelines

Connect

Vulnerability is the birthplace of innovation, creativity, and change.
Brene Brown

Beginning with yourself and your purpose draws the audience into your work and helps them understand why it is important.

To connect with your audience, we encourage you to start your presentation with 4 H's:

  • My history
  • My heartbreak
  • My heroes
  • My hope.

Engage

Interaction helps your audience learn as much as possible from your presentation. Aim to engage with your audience every

8 minutes.

Ask participants questions and encourage them to unmute their mics or type responses in the chat.

SIGnetwork can assist you with the following engagement tools. Please notify us at least 3 days prior to the webinar if you would like for us to set up one of these tools.

Timing

We hold time at the end of webinars so that participants have time to sit with and respond to your presentation. To accomplish this, it's important that all presentations end on time.

Practice your presentation and timing so that participants can best benefit from your work.

Dates to Note

While we typically ask presenters to share their screens unless otherwise specified, we ask that you send us your presentation materials ahead of time to assist us in preparing our introductions and conclusions.

Please be sure to send us any slides or handouts that you plan to use 1 week prior to the webinar.

How do you prefer to keep time?
